New Year, New Me and All the Cliches

Today marks exactly 1 full week of being in 2016 and for once it hasn't been as terrible as the last few years have started. Last year didn't start terribly either, but it was extremely emotional for more reasons than I can count. With the exception of one moment, 2016 has been wonderful.

I've never been one to be excited about a year before, but this year I can truly say that I'm excited. Not just excited, but beyond excited. I feel so much potential for this year and so much to be excited for. While I don't know where I'm going, or what I'm doing for that matter, I just know this year is going to be the year everything changes.

While I wasn't planning to include something like this on my blog, I decided that I want to share my goals - not my resolutions, but goals. To me, resolutions are almost made to be broken, while goals are meant to be stuck to.
  • Blog at LEAST once a week for the next year (meaning at least 52 posts on here)
  • Find an upload schedule for YouTube and STICK to it
  • Continue working to the full conversion to vegetarianism
  • Remain committed to purchasing cruelty-free cosmetics (eventually remove companies with parent companies who test!)
  • Become as confident as I was living in Orlando (although extremely shaky at times)
  • Don't take "No" as an answer
  • Figure out what exactly it is I want to do with life and OWN IT
  • Truly start life the way it's meant to be started
  • Shake things up and keep people guessing
  • Create a community online and spread knowledge and positivity
  • Always be myself, no matter how weird people think I am
I'm hoping that by the time the end of 2016 comes along, I can come back and look at this post and see the improvements I was looking to make. A lot has happened in the past few years that have beyond shaken my confidence. I've lost a lot of friends along the way and it's been extremely lonely most of the time, but I've been ok.

But now is the time to be even better.

I hope everyone has a happy and wonderful 2016. Make 2016 you be the best you ever.

Dessange Paris California Blonde Review

Dessange Paris is an amazing new brand to hit the states and is currently a Target exclusive. The product line that we currently have is the product of a fabulous French designer who owns his own schools, salons, and his European line of products. I totally wish we would’ve gotten these products sooner because they are AMAZING.

I was given the California Blonde line from Influenster to test out and review complimentary of the company. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect as I started the (apparently very lengthy) process of moving on to having nice blonde tresses. These products smell absolutely amazing and have all of the amazing power to ensure that your hair color stays as fresh and as vibrant as the day you got it. I’ve had my hair dyed previously, but I’ve gotten more compliments on the color weeks later this time around than any other time!

I think one of the best parts of this particular line is you can still smell the shampoo and conditioner days later. The fragrance is so light and pleasant that any gentle breeze will stir it up enough that you’ll be able to enjoy it hours after washing.

I haven’t had a chance to try the brass corrector, but it smells just as wonderful as the other products.

Overall, I genuinely recommend these products to anyone with color treated hair. I would also definitely check out their other lines of products. So head out to your local Targets and check it out! You’re sure to enjoy it!

The Top 10 Reasons Why Fall is the Best Season Ever

According to the calendar, Fall officially starts on September 22nd this year. However, to me Fall started when all the kids started going back to school. In some places this was in August, but in New Jersey everyone has either started already or will start tomorrow at the very least. Living in a shore town offers an interesting insight to the tourists (Bennies) that come in and the way they seem to overtake all of the local areas and expect us to wait on them hand and foot. While I can’t complain because they help take care of local businesses, but it’s always a relief to leave the house and see the roads mostly barren and finally with only local traffic.

It’s also an excellent time to jump on the Fall train and enjoy everything that comes with the changing leaves and cooler weather…which brings me to this:

The Top 10 Reasons Why Fall is the Best Season Ever

    1. The leaves look really pretty

2. No more sweating from 90+ degree weather and humidity

3. You never need to find an excuse to wear a sweater

4. Halloween!

5. You can eat candy corn at any time without looking like a complete weirdo

6. It's the perfect season to snuggle up in front of a fire

7. Hockey season starts! (and I guess football does as well...)

8. Boots are more than acceptable footwear

9. It's the best time to go apple picking!

and finally...the last reason why Fall is the best season ever -

Feel free to add your own reasons why Fall is the best season ever in the comments!

Hello. :)

Hi, there! I’m Caitlyn and I am a Jersey girl through and through. I have been born and raised at the Jersey shore and the beach is in no short supply for me.

I have been blogging since I was 12 and it’s something that I’ve always enjoyed. However, I’m finally deciding to remove myself from the more private-realm and teenage angst blog posts and move into the adult world; a world that isn’t exactly anything like I thought it would be. However, despite adult life both exceeding and also not meeting a majority of my expectations, I can’t complain in the least.

This blog is going to be a combination of my innermost musings, daily life, little life hacks that I’ve picked up along the way, and anything else relevant to life in general. To put it simply - anything goes on this blog.

There are a few different ways you can get in contact with me! You can like my Facebook page, follow me on Twitter, check out my YouTube channel, and follow me on Instagram! You can also leave comments on any of the blog posts and we can chat! I love meeting new people and it helps make me less shy. :)

Feel free to stick around! I’d love to have you here. :)
